The UK’s first fully guided busway is being used to trial new self-driving transport pods, billed as the most advanced feasibility study yet, bringing fully autonomous vehicles a step closer to the UK. Using the pioneering Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, which runs between the city centre and nearby commuter towns, Coventry-based RDM Group is using its PodZero concept vehicle to complete feasibility studies.

A leading Coventry manufacturer is helping pioneer driverless vehicle technology ‘down under’ after it began trials on a new ‘last mile’ transport solution. Aurrigo, the autonomous vehicle division of RDM Group, is testing its Pod Zero on a network of mapped courses at the Tonsley Innovation District in South Australia to explore a possible solution to carrying and delivering cargo around the technology precinct.

 

BBC West Midlands visit Aurrigo

Aurrigo is in the news again! BBC West Midlands came to Coventry to interview Miles Garner and Richard Fairchild about the rapid expansion of Aurrigo in Coventry, creating jobs and developing a local supply chain. We also talked about the new Cambridge project with Smart Cambridge and Cambridgeshire County Council and the development of our 12 seater pod.
