What you will do
• Design and development of automotive components and systems from concept through to production
• Involvement in all aspects of the product design and development process from initial concept to production
• Liaise with internal and external customers to define requirements and specifications for new products.
• Liaise with existing and new suppliers to define the manufacturing requirements and feed back to the mechanical design office.
• Assess quotations from potential suppliers.
• Generate initial concept schemes.
• Work with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure a robust and cost-effective design of products.
• Create and own CAD models and assemblies utilizing best practice modelling techniques.
• Produce component and assembly drawings including GD&T, specifications, and finishes.
• Manage design document control, including initial costed BOMS to support commercial validation of product.
What we require from you
• Identify new systems and process to drive quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Respond quickly to shifting priorities site of core projects and goals.
• Degree in Engineering discipline or Product Design, MEng/MSc preferred.
• Competent in using parametric CAD, preferably Solidworks.
What we prefer from you
• Minimum of 5 years CAD experience
• Experience in CAE(FEA/CFD) and CAS modelling is not essential but desirable.
